Komby Community Guidelines

Version: 25 August 2026

Komby is built to bring people together in a more human and intentional way.

We want users to be able to express themselves freely, but also want everyone to feel safe, respected and welcome.

These Community Guidelines apply to every part of Komby, including:

By using Komby you agree to follow these rules.

This English text is a translation of the Dutch original for convenience. In the event of any inconsistency, the Dutch version prevails.

1. Adults only

Komby is intended only for people aged 18 and over.

You may not use Komby if you are under 18.

You may not present yourself as an adult if you are a minor.

If we reasonably suspect that a user is a minor, we may immediately restrict or delete the account while we investigate the situation.

If you suspect a minor is using Komby, please report this via the report function or via [email protected].

2. Be yourself

Komby is about real people.

So you may not impersonate someone else.

Not allowed includes, among other things:

Parody or brand accounts are only permitted where clearly signalled and not misleading, insofar as Komby supports such accounts.

3. Your profile video must be of you

Because Komby is video-first, your profile video is a key part of your identity.

Your profile video must:

You may not upload a video featuring someone else without appropriate consent where that person is recognisable and the context requires it.

4. No sexual or explicit content

Komby is not a platform for pornographic or sexually explicit content.

Not allowed includes, among other things:

Certain media may be automatically scanned for potentially unsafe or explicit content.

Suspected breaches may result in content being automatically removed and sent for human moderation.

5. Absolute prohibition on sexual content involving minors

Any form of sexual exploitation or sexualisation of minors is strictly prohibited.

This includes, among other things:

Where this is confirmed or seriously suspected we may immediately:

6. No harassment or unwanted conduct

Treat other users with respect.

Not allowed includes, among other things:

A block must be respected.

Circumventing a block is a serious violation.

7. No hate or discrimination

Komby does not allow content or conduct that attacks or dehumanises people on the basis of protected characteristics.

This includes, among other things:

Dating or connection preferences may not be used as an excuse for hateful or degrading statements.

8. No violence or threats

Not allowed:

Where we suspect an acute safety risk we may take appropriate measures and, where necessary, involve competent authorities.

9. No scams, fraud or financial deception

Komby may not be used to financially deceive other users.

Not allowed includes, among other things:

Be cautious when someone you know via Komby asks for money.

10. No spam or commercial outreach

Komby is intended for human connections, not for unsolicited marketing.

Not allowed includes, among other things:

Networking within Komby may not be abused as an excuse for mass commercial outreach.

11. No illegal goods or services

You may not use Komby to offer, buy or sell illegal or regulated goods or services where doing so breaches applicable law.

This includes, for example:

12. No harmful technical activity

Not allowed:

13. Respect privacy

Do not share private information about others without consent.

Not allowed includes, among other things:

14. No misuse of Compatibility Scores

Compatibility is intended as an aid, not as a judgement of someone's worth.

Do not use Compatibility Scores to:

Compatibility is context, not truth about a person.

15. Keep connection requests intentional

Only send connection requests when you have genuine interest in connecting.

Not allowed:

Komby's connection model is deliberately designed around quality over quantity.

16. Respect Pass and End Connection

If someone rejects your request or ends a connection, respect that choice.

Not allowed:

17. Messaging

Use chat in a respectful way.

Not allowed:

Komby chat is currently not end-to-end encrypted.

Therefore do not share information that you would not want to send via a server-side messaging service.

18. Reporting

If you see content or conduct that may breach these Guidelines, you can flag it via the report function.

Please make reports as accurate as possible.

Abuse of reports is not allowed.

Examples of report abuse include:

19. Blocking

When you block someone, our systems try to prevent you from encountering each other again in relevant parts of Komby or exchanging messages.

Blocking is a safety feature and may be used freely whenever you do not want contact with someone.

20. Automated moderation

Komby uses automated systems to check certain media for safety risks.

Profile media may, for example, be automatically analysed for potentially explicit or unsafe content.

For videos, representative frames may be checked.

Automated moderation can make mistakes and is not the only moderation layer.

Komby therefore also uses:

21. Human moderation

Reports and certain automated flags may be reviewed by authorised moderators.

Depending on the severity and context we may take measures such as:

22. Severity of measures

Not every breach automatically leads to a permanent ban.

We may take into account:

Some behaviour is however so serious that immediate termination may be justified.

This applies in particular to:

23. Ban evasion

Where your account has been terminated, you may not create a new account without permission to circumvent that measure.

We may retain limited enforcement data to recognise repeated serious breaches.

24. Retention of moderation data

Limited moderation and enforcement data may be retained for up to 24 months where this is necessary for:

Where possible we retain no more information for no longer than necessary.

25. Objecting to moderation decisions

Where applicable law or our product process provides for this, you can object to certain moderation decisions.

Contact us at [email protected].

Where possible please include:

An objection does not guarantee that the decision will be reversed.

26. Offline safety

Komby helps you discover people, but we cannot control people's conduct off the platform.

For a first meeting we recommend, among other things:

Always use your own judgement.

27. No safety or verification guarantee

A verification badge or Compatibility Score does not mean that a person is guaranteed:

to be.

Moderation and verification reduce risks but cannot fully eliminate them.

28. Changes

We may amend these Community Guidelines where:

In the case of material changes we may inform users.
